The Pirate Life
The Concept
It only took us a year, but Josie and I reunited once again for another shoot. I had gotten some inspiration from Pinterest involving candles, books, and food. We forgot the books, unfortunately, but the food more than made up for it. Josie to brought over a handful of dresses from her clothing inventory. I pulled in my little table from the balcony, cleaned it off and threw a backdrop over it. As I’ve gotten more into cooking this year, I’ve started collecting a lot more dipping bowls, serving platters and utensils which I added to the table.
The Pirate
I had planned on doing similar shots to what I found on Pinterest. However, out of her wardrobe, was a ruffled shirt and large trench coat. After she put that on, I realized I had a pirate on my hands. So, I added my Ka-Bar knife to complete the look. Unfortunately, I was not happy with most of the shots involving the knife except the one in this post. But hey, at least I tried.
The Shoot
I had Josie sit down and posed her eating and drinking then finishing up with a nice small cigar. After I got the shots I wanted, I went ahead and changed the backdrop to a darker one. I was really pleased with how the white ruffled shirt stood out against the darker background. She has amazingly beautiful long hair which flowed seamlessly against the long coat.
I was very pleased with how the edits came out and the overall color.
Once again, Josie did an amazing job posing and showing us a brief glimpse into a pirate’s life.
